100th Post!
This is my 100th post on The Page Dreamer! Happy hundredth post to meee!

I’m very excited! ^_^ I started this little book-blog a bit over a year and a half ago, on the first day of 2016, and I’m so pleased to have come this far!
Thank you SO much, all you lovely readers, for putting up with my bookish babblings and reading and commenting! Y’all are the best! β€
Nightstand Books
What with the Silmarillion Awards (Award Presentations begin today! :O) and reviews and such, I’ve been too busy blogging about other things to get around to a nightstand books post until now!
But here I am, halfway through the month, to share my July books, that I’ve either read this month, am currently reading, or hope to read soon. π
(Nightstand Books is a blogging meme created by Jenelle and DJ to share our currently-reading books each month and be excited about them. …With me it’s more like my-bookish-plans-for-the-month, but still. Join the fun if you like!)
July Nightstand
- The Skin Map by Stephen R. Lawhead — Still working on re-reading through this aloud, so the amount of time I spend reading it is kind of out of my control… But hopefully we’ll get through it this month.
- The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien — Re-reading this for the third/fourth/whatever time, because the Silmarillion Awards is an awesome excuse and it was just way overdue for a re-read. (I think last time was 2010? Yeah… But I’d read it a few times before that, so anyway. ;)) I’m reading a chapter every day and enjoying it SO MUCH. It’s like coming home. β€
- Starflower by Anne Elisabeth Stengl — For another Goldstone Wood readalong. π Haven’t started yet but I’m SO excited to!
- The Invisible Library by Genevieve Cogman — I got this from the library; how appropriate. (It was a visible one though. *cough*) I’ve heard great things so I’m excited. π
- The Illusionist’s Apprentice by Kristy Cambron — This caught my eye when it was up for review one time when I was too busy to read; so I was excited to find it at the library. Let’s be honest: I’m here for the character names (Wren and Elliot), Houdini + murder mystery, and that pretty cover.
- Heartstone by Elle Katharine White — Found at the library — yay! Pride and Prejudice retelling with dragons? Yes please and thank you.
- Intermission by Serena Chase — Also libraried (totally a word, hush). I honestly don’t think this is going to be a “for me” book, but I’m curious about it anyway. XD Disclaimer: I miiiight not get around to finishing the library books before they need to head back. >.> We shall see! *must read faster*
- Coiled by H.L. Burke — I won this gorgeous book in a giveaway, and I hate snakes but… this author got me addicted to cute snek memes and I love her writing, so. XD And mythology YA romance thingy with a prettiful cover… yes. I just read it this weekend and it was fantastic! ^_^ This author is awesome. β€
Other Books Not In Above Picture
- Kate’s Capitol by Sarah Holman — I breezed through this on Independence Day and quite enjoyed it. π [REVIEW]
- The Reluctant Godfather by Allison Tebo — Quite a funny and enjoyable novella I accidentally read one evening. XD Aside from punctuation errors driving my editor self somewhat batty, it was super fun and hilarious! XD Plus Burndee. π
- Ewan Pendle and the White Wraith by Shaun Hume — Currently reading this review book and it’s been very intriguing so far!
- An Earthly King by Hazel B. West — A readalong book, this is a re-read for me. I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUUUCH! β€ Re-reading this series is absolutely delightful! ^_^ *flails* (There’s still time to join the readalong, which is HERE!)
- Perception by Emily Ann Benedict — The next in the Vintage Jane Austen series, this one is a retelling of Jane Austen’s Persuasion, set in the 1930s; it’s releasing this month and I can’t WAIT. π (Plus THAT COVER!!!! :O)
- The Tomb of the Sea Witch by Kyle Robert Shultz — This is the much-anticipated sequel to The Beast of Talesend (which I flailed about earlier), and it’s releasing NEXT MONDAY! I’m so so stoked! π I can’t wait to read more hilarious Nick and Crispin and Cordelia adventures!! ^_^
As far as how my reading in the last month went: I read 12 books in June, so I got through almost all my reads from the last post like this I did! Leftover from my June nightstand post is only my re-read aloud of The Skin Map, and Ewan Pendle and the White Wraith. Not bad… (There’s also a beta-read that I didn’t get around to, and I dropped The Tempest for now, just ’til I have time.) But I did also read a book (For Love and Honor by Jody Hedlund) in June that wasn’t on my June list. So things more or less even out. XD
As usual, some of these may migrate to August, especially as I seem to accidentally be doing Camp NaNo…? Ahem. So that’s kind of eating into my reading time and I’m not reading as fast as I had been, between that and the Silmarillion Awards and general life insanity. But in any case, there’s a glimpse at what I’m reading these days. π
“Accidentally” doing Camp NaNoWriMo. Oh you. XD
I’m so excited you’re reading several of these- well, mostly The Invisible Library, but others too. Let me know what you think of Heartstone; it’s on my TBR list, and I actually have it out from the library, but I haven’t had time to read it.
I really need to reread The Silmarillion . . . Maybe after I move, since I’ll have to spend less time on the internet then.

Well, it waaas accidental… *shifty eyes* *cough* Eheh.
Yay! And I’ve been intrigued by The Invisible Library so far and it’s just taking me a little while to get into it… dunno why… Hopefully I’ll be able to concentrate on it sometime. *keeps getting distracted by review books* Will let you know if I get to Heartstone first. π
YES. It’s so worthy of re-reading! π (And whaaa–? o.o What is dis lack of internet thing? :O)

I find it very difficult to “accidentally” decide to write for an hour every day for a month.
Maybe Tare is feeling threatened by Kai and is subconsciously distracting in hopes that you’ll write his story instead. But you keep misinterpreting the distraction’s source so you read review books instead. And thank you!
Not a total lack of Internet. I’ll still blog, and respond to your blog and email and such. I’ll just have to limit how much time I spend online because we’re currently going off a Verizon Jetpack that only gives us 20GB of high-speed internet per month and then cuts us down to a much smaller amount. So I can still do stuff, but if I want to do something that’ll take a long time or a lot of uploading and downloading, I’ll have to get my family to take me or let me drive to a library or something.

Well the actual WRITING isn’t accidental, and is hard to do, but the decision was accidental. XD I’d say it was good though…
Ahaha! *laughing* Tare is not threatened by Kai. XD I like Kai but haven’t known him very long yet. I like that you have theories about this though. XD
Ahhh. Okay. Just curious — thanks. π

Fair enough.
Heh. I like having theories. And it seemed reasonable . . . Though I should’ve known better; Tare probably isn’t (or wouldn’t admit to being) threatened by anyone. XD

I’m pretty sure the only character I’ve read who comes near to threatening Tare is Jet from Sentinel, but in a way it’s less threatening because they’re a lot alike, which only makes me want to write Tare MORE and inspires me, so it’s kind of a win-win. XD (Tare isn’t threatened by pretty much anyone, yeah. As he recently said in the chapter I wrote last, “Threats don’t work on me.” and the badguy asked what does, and Tare said “Maybe I’ll let you know when I find out.” :D)

That’s always awesome, when a book inspires you to write instead of merely inspiring you to pick up the next book in the series. (Oh, really? Haha, nice.)

YES. I mean, it inspired me to do that too. XD Also, I do like Kai, and maybe he will be even more awesome though the book; I’ve only read 57 pages so far. *hides*

Yeah, it took me a while to figure out exactly how I felt about Kai. But he’s pretty awesome once you find out a bit more about him. (And you get to meet Vale and Silver soon! Unless you’ve already met them?)

Nope, haven’t met them… Now I’m curious. π They only JUST got to the world and got their clothes and there was something going on outside so I suspect the story is about to start in earnest.

Ooh, yes. You’ll meet Silver shortly, then. And Vale after him. You’ll like Vale. π Silver too, but he takes time to sort out.

I met Silver and Vale! I actually didn’t like EITHER when I met them. -_- Vale is growing on me though! π I only saw Silver for a few pages and am having a hard time imagining ever liking him. o.o But whatever you say, love! XD Now to finish this, this week, before it goes back to the (non-invisible) library without totally dying on Camp NaNo… π

Mmm, yes. Silver takes time, and you have to be willing to appreciate dramatic villainy. Let me know what you think when you finish!

OOH, almost all of the (physical) books you got are ones that I’ve been thinking about/have already read! You’ll have to tell me what you thinking about The Invisible Library (I tried to start it, but it just wasn’t interesting me – maybe it gets better?) and Heartstone, because I’ve been waffling on reading both of those for SO long xD.
And CONGRATS on 100 posts!! I’ve been reading them pretty much from the start, and they’ve ALL been epic, so GOOD FOR YOU, DEBORAH! π

Fun! Okay, will definitely let you know! I… am actually floundering a little in the opening of The Invisible Library myself. *cough* I think I wasn’t in the mood when I started and I keep having review books taking my attention… But I have hopes of it picking up! π
Thank you so muuuuch! β€

OBVIOUSLY I NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHICH POST I’M COMMENTING ON. Because I was going to read this one first, but then I clicked over to the SilmAwards schedule post on The Road of a Writer, and left a P.S. congratulating you there. *headdesk*
Anyways! So many lovely looking books! All the hearts for The Skin Mal and Starflower. Ooh, you must tell me what you think of Heartstone! Cait from Paper Fury mentioned it once, and I thought it looked interesting. I mean, P&P retelling with DRAGONS? β€

Thanks! Yesss, I’m excited for Starflower, and will definitely let you know about Heartstone. (I wasn’t planning to review it, but now like everybody is like TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK and I’m like… “o.o …*slooowly backing away*” Just kidding. XD Anyways, YES, P&P with dragons sounds so fun. π
